Great movie, even though I find boxing about as entertaining as watching the grass grow. It was the rest of the story that kept me tuned in to the movie.
I know this was based on a true story but I don’t know if it was ‘loosely’ based or not.

Christian Bale is starting to freak me out the way he can skinny down to the size of a major anorexic and plump back up to normal at will. Have you seen The Machinist? Friggin’ weird! Dude is so thin it’s gross.

Anyway, Marky Mark is a bitchin’ little boxer the way he gets in there and kicks a little ass. All with the love and support of his woman, Charlene (Amy Adams).

Oh, and let’s not forget that white trash family of his. What the hell is up with all them sisters livin’ at home at their age? Maybe it’s the fact they all look like they fell out the ugly tree hittin’ every damned branch on the way down!

GADS! That mom!! I just wanted to slap her ho-bag ass back to her couch. If my mom dressed like that I would most certainly be havin’ a sit down with her.

Anyways… the movie is definitely worth watching. I enjoyed it, minus the skanky mom.

I give it four paws up!
